What makes our office unique?

We offer services and quality care second to none.

Same Day Repair Service

Repairs may be needed from time to time in order to keep your hearing aids working smoothly. Most repairs are quick, easy and simple to diagnose and fix, many can be done the same day.

Aural Rehabilitation

Aural rehabilitation is the process of identifying and diagnosing a hearing loss, providing different types of therapies to clients who are hard of hearing, and implementing different amplification devices to aid the client’s hearing abilities.

Hearing Conservation & Protection

Noise, or unwanted sound, is a pervasive occupational health problem. Exposure to high levels of noise can cause hearing loss.

Custom Musician's Plugs

Musician’s earplugs are designed to replicate the natural response of sound. As a result, the sounds that you hear are the same quality as the original – only quieter. The result is the ability to hear speech and music clearly, as the ear reads the full blended frequencies.

Cognitive Assessment

Hearing loss can impact your cognitive health. Hearing loss has been Linked with a decline in cognitive function (according to several recent studies by Journal of American Geriatrics Society, World Health Organization, ACTA, and Johns Hopkins). Taking Action in to manage your hearing loss may delay or slow the advancement of cognitive decline. New technology enables accurate screening in our office.

We offer a range of community-based presentations, open houses and consumer seminars providing education about hearing, hearing loss and hearing aids.

Recognized For Best Practices

At Birkdale Audiology we believe following Audiology Best Practices to bring our patients the top level of patient care. This includes-  including utilizing real ear measurements through speech mapping for optimal hearing device fitting, and complete diagnostic testing speech in noise testing and cognitive assessment, and ANSI testing of hearing devices.
Real Ear Measurement/ Speech Mapping This is recommended for every patient wearing hearing devices. The sound of the hearing device varies depending on the shape of the ear and ear canal. During real ear measurement, a small microphone is placed in the patient’s ear canal and the hearing aid is placed on the ear. The patient will listen to varying volumes of speech to measure how the hearing device is functioning on their ear. Adjustments are made until the hearing devices match the prescriptive gain needed for their hearing loss. Following this Best Practice method allows the Audiologist to truly program the device to the individual.
Dr. Knolhoff is proud to be recognized as a member of Dr. Cliff Olson’s Best Practice Provider Network, which validates her commitment to providing the best quality of care for her patients.
